Bio – Lance began his career as a consultant for Andersen Business Consulting. After several years of working within the big consulting world, a confluence of situations and market pressures forced him into the strategic opportunity of starting his own practice, and so TekSpark was born in 2002 (originally operating as Independent Catalyst). Since its conception, Lance has worked to grow its footprint as requested (TekSpark is a 100% referral based business thus far), passionately desiring to match client needs with the technical expertise and leadership they need to solve their problems. While he’s busy managing the firm itself, he’s also out in the field, leading global programs and implementations for some of our biggest clients. This has given credence to both clients, partners, and contractors who know they’re not just talking to a generic recruiter, but someone who understands the strange but wonderful world of consulting.
Hobbies – Lance is your go-to-guy when it comes to a lot of things, both professionally and socially. Trying to find the best new restaurant to check out? Lance knows. Looking for the latest news in the business, tech, and sports realm? Lance is your guy. When he’s not busy heads-down on a client or collaborating on the future of TekSpark, you’ll find him doting on his wife Lauren, son Andrew or daughter Sadie, watching sports, or enjoying an IPA.

Bio – Matt is a career IT and Business Applications consultant with an Industrial Management degree from Carnegie Mellon University (1996). After graduation he joined Arthur Andersen and spent his time implementing leading business applications for global and domestic clients during the Y2K craze. He’s always enjoyed filling roles that got his hands dirty with complex business and technical challenges. He loves blending the two worlds, and has a passion for building lasting relationships with clients along the way. After stints at Andersen, Perot Systems, and other consulting firms, he switched into corporate Director roles, leading IT and business functions at a major global Pharma company. His consulting itch and desire for variety never went away though, and he returned to consulting in a leadership role at Independent Catalyst in 2014. Matt’s back where he belongs.
Hobbies – Life is busy, and Matt’s favorite thing to do is enjoy a nice meal and some laughs with his wife and two sons, or with his closest friends. He’s also a sports junkie. When he’s not at one of his boys’ little league games or basketball games, he’s probably at a Pittsburgh Pirates, Penguins, or Steelers game. When he can find the time, he also likes to squeeze in a round of golf. Or better yet, travel, especially to wine country in the US and overseas.

Bio – Megan started her career at Arthur Andersen Business Consulting where she focused on PeopleSoft Financials implementations. When the Enron fiasco brought down Andersen, she went to BearingPoint where she lead several large global PeopleSoft implementations. Eventually she got married and had 2 kids, and decided to take a break from the consulting world. After a couple years of mommyhood, she joined TekSpark on a part-time basis to focus on recruiting. Over the past 5 years, she’s morphed into the Finance Director, HR Department, Contract Admin, and basically focuses on the day-to-day operations. Her background in ERP consulting lends a strong background for working with clients and consultants to understand a client’s needs and identify the right resource for a particular role. She’s also passed the CPA exam, and is a Certified PMP.
Hobbies – When not working, Megan spends her days volunteering for recess duty at school, climbing “Mt. Laundry”, and uber-ing her kids to their various activities. She lives in the Chicago suburbs with her husband Nick, and their two children.

Bio – Mark doesn’t possess the typical IT background. He grew up tinkering with technology as a kid, ensuring his hardware was always able to boot the latest game to come his way. Computer Science was an obvious choice for his college years, but he instead pursued the humble field of History. He was in the process of applying for his PhD, when a couple left turns landed him in an MBA program instead. We’re glad he ended up there. Since the beginning of his career, he’s been an incredible asset to any organization he’s been with; from a Pittsburgh based development shop, to his times as a brand manager with a fortune 500 company, to the client projects he’s managed for us. Mark is a very capable individual with high bandwidth, strategic commercial mindset, and someone who deeply cares about his clients and colleagues. He has a knack for quickly assimilating organizational structure and processes, and a devout passion for identifying ways to help technology make businesses run faster, smoother, easier, while delivering more value to its customers and consumers. He’s also a great teammate for trivia night.
Hobbies – Reading (from metaphysics and epistemology, to Neil Gaiman and the Star Wars EU), cooking, playing guitar, hanging with his pooch Plutarch, and spending time with his lovely wife BreAnna.

Bio – Grae has an eclectic background that revolves around one word: Innovation. She started out her career with a BA in Architecture from the University of Pittsburgh. What intrigued her about architecture was the equation of human psychology built within the walls that defines our world. After working a few years as project manager in the architecture industry, she decided it was time to move on. She took her skills in project management and human interaction design, and used them to pursue a Master’s of Integrated Innovation for Products and Services at Carnegie Mellon University. This is where her interest in innovation came full circle. Grae’s passionate about the product and services we interact with each day, especially the intentional design choices that turn our interactions into pleasant experiences. She looks forward to innovation’s continuous change on the way we interact with the products and services around us. Grae was connected with TekSpark soon after her graduation. She’s currently using her design, and project management skills to help our clients realize the future of HRIS technology, as well as bring her own innovative twist to the evolving space.
Hobbies – Grae enjoys all things Pittsburgh. Spending some of her youth in Baltimore, she enjoys the small, big city feel which drew her to Pittsburgh in the first place. From sports teams to the best new food, you can find her being a part of it all. Her favorite leisure activities include trying new craft beers, exploring hidden parts of Pittsburgh, going to Pitt football games, and pigging out at the newest restaurant. Another main interest of hers is networking and researching the hidden world of innovation within Pittsburgh. In her words, Pittsburgh is about to boom within the technology world and it would be a mistake to leave the city. When her and her boyfriend aren’t packed with plans, they enjoy a nice Manhattan (extra cherries) or an IPA on the porch. One could say she’s living up to the ‘millennial’ dream.
